The Minimal
Simply attending is great, and it requires nothing! Better than that is showing off a project or giving a lightning talk. But if you want to go above and beyond, here are ways you can do more and give back.
This is your community. We can always use more people stepping up to the plate. Join our Discord server and let us know what you'd like to help with, or just show up to any Wednesday meeting and talk to existing organizers. This page enumerates just a few things we can always use help with.
Membership
Membership is informal, and you can always show up. But we do maintain a members directory and people in that directory get to vote on organizational matters. They also get a profile page which can serve as evidence of your involvement with HOSS to an employer. Active membership in HOSS requires you show up twice in the past year.
For an example of the profile page, you can see Evan Carroll
Social Media
Basically boils down to "Like and subscribe." The algorithms prefer active organizations. You can help us appear active.
