About Women of HOSS

Women of HOSS is a subgroup within the Houston Open Source Society dedicated to fostering inclusion, gender balance, and stronger organization within Houston's technology community. This initiative creates a supportive space for women in tech to connect, collaborate, and grow together.

Our Goals

• Inclusion: Creating welcoming spaces for women in Houston's tech scene
• Gender Balance: Working toward better representation in open source and technology
• Organization: Building a structured community that supports professional growth and networking
• Connection: Facilitating meaningful relationships between women technologists in Houston

Whether you're a seasoned developer, just starting your tech journey, or somewhere in between, Women of HOSS welcomes you. Check out your Discord roles if you haven't recently, we have quite a few now!

How to Join

If you identify as a woman and want to be part of Women of HOSS, you need only add the role @women-of-hoss:

1. Join our Discord server

2. Click on "Channels and Roles" in the top left

   

3. Sign up for the Women of HOSS subgroup

   

If you were added to the group and wish to remove yourself, you can follow the same steps to opt out.

Once the role @women-of-hoss is added, you should see the Discord channel #women-of-hoss available in your channel listing.
